I have recently rekindled my romance with photography with my new Canon 550D.
Our previous relationship was really short and, er, immature. I used to take pictures with my Coolpix mik & druk, until I received my iPhone. (Yes, I really believed I was a legit photographer, or at least, an enthusiast, with my mik & druk). The coolpix was 8mp, my iPhone is 10. So much better.
Taking photos with the iPhone has now entered me into the fauxtography category. Sad.
Well, I now have the 550D and I am loving every moment with it. I have the standard lens, as well as the 75mm to 300mm lens. I desperately want a macro lens, but that’ll have to wait.
Now that I have fairly decent camera to shoot with, I have put together a Photographer’s Wishlist: a list of things I want to snap with my camera. I will be ticking them off as I go. Here they are:
2. Underwater photo
3. Shooting Star
4. Safari Panorama
6. The Big 5: Lion, African Elephant, Cape Buffalo, Leopard, Rhinoceros
7. Bird/birds in flight
8. The full moon
9. A Butterfly
10. Cherry Blossoms
11. A photo taken from the air
12. Heaven’s Trail
13. Drop of water
14. Ballerina dancing
15. Ink under water
17. A misty street covered in trees, flowers, plants
19. Tropical Blue Waters
20. Giraffe (head to toe in one photo)
21. Sunset/Sunrise over the ocean
22. Snow covered landscape
23. Street Art or Graffiti
24. Birds sitting on wire/line
25. Surfer catching a wave
These are the only ones I have in mind at the moment, but I am sure the list will be ever growing.
I have shot some great photos so far, but am not nearly as good as I want to be. So I’ll keep practicing and post a few cool ones every now and then.
Here are a few of my favourites:
